Comprinet pro-Anti-Embolic Stockings are intended for use during surgical procedures and on patients confined to bed, as a prophylaxis to prevent the formation of blood clots. They are available in knee-high, thigh-high, and waist-high (chaps) and provide 18 mmHg of graduated compression.
The Jobst Anti-Em/GP Stocking applies a gradient compression, greatest at the ankle, and gradually decreasing to the thigh without tourniquets or impeding the venous return.
These stockings are only designed for hospital use, to prevent DVTs when patients are inactive or anaesthetised and are ineffective when standing or traveling.
