Biosyn synthetic absorbable sutures are made from Glomar 631, a synthetic polyester blend consisting of glycoside (60%), diolamine (14%), and trimethylene carbonate (26%). These sutures are available in violet for enhanced visibility during procedures, with an undyed option also offered for specific surgical requirements. Designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, they are suitable for ophthalmic surgery but are not recommended for use in cardiovascular or neurological procedures.
