The unit includes a quality replacement call bell pendant and an on/off button (for the beam only) therefore using only one nurse call point for Sensor Beam and call button.

The Bed Alarms Sensor Beam is a fully adjustable and portable unit that provides flexibility in both location and area of sensitivity, designed to suit a range of requirements, while remaining simple to set up and use.

Fixings are available in wall mount (WM) OR short/ tall mount pole set (PL) Each Sensor Beam purchased includes either (WM) or (PL), please order the fixing that suits your use.
Staff are alerted via the nurse call system, when the resident’s movement ‘breaks’ the invisible curtain/ beam. The invisible ‘curtain’ area of motion detection can be set with a horizontal or vertical beam or anywhere in between, including forwards and backwards tilting.
Options for use include but are not limited to:
  • set up beside the bed, to alert staff when a resident swing their legs out of the bed/ beside the mattress
  • set up at the rear of the bed, just above the height of a sleeping resident to alert staff when they sit up.
  • positioned to alert staff if the resident exits a room.
  • set up to detect a resident attempting to exit a chair.
Set up and Care instructions are provided and include popular set up descriptions with pictures and diagrams.
Bed Alarms can customise wiring of Sensor Beams to suit the variety of nurse call systems on the market – a 24 month warranty is includedBed Alarms Sensor Beams can also be repaired and parts replaced if they are ever damaged.

Instructions:
1 – Set up the Sensor Beam in required location/ position and ensure placement of cables does not create a trip hazard.
2- Plug the Sensor Beam into the nurse call system. In the nurse call point when the Sensor Beam style includes a replacement call bell pendant or into an aux point if no call bell attached.
3 – Plug the 240 volt power supply into a power socket.
4 – Ensure that the ‘power’ light on the back of the sensor is on
5 – Turn ON/OFF switch to ON Note: Once the on/off switch is ON, the beam will alarm for the first 30 seconds. During this 30 second period the sensor is studying its environment and adjusting its settings accordingly. This will only occur after it has been plugged in to a 240v wall socket or power has been turned off/on at the power socket– not applicable when switched on and off from the switch on the head of the sensor beam.
6 – After the 30 second warm up period the Sensor Beam operation should be tested. Wave your hand in front of the beam to mimic resident movement. The sensor beam should create an alarm to your nurse call system in the same way pressing the call bell pendant would.
7 – If applicable, test the new call pendant attached to the sensor beam. *** Please test the Sensor Beam regularly thereafter
