Important Information: All medicines carry risks and benefits. Your doctor has assessed the risks and benefits of XYLOCAINE for you. If you have concerns, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Usage: XYLOCAINE is utilized to prevent or alleviate pain without inducing sleep. It is also administered post-surgery to relieve pain and can be used to reduce pain during childbirth. Belonging to the local anesthetics group, XYLOCAINE is injected to inhibit nerve signals to the brain. The extent of pain relief depends on the dosage, causing either complete cessation of pain or partial loss of sensation.
Combination with Adrenaline: XYLOCAINE is sometimes combined with Adrenaline (Epinephrine) to prolong its effects. Adrenaline narrows blood vessels at the injection site, extending the duration of XYLOCAINE's effectiveness.
Doctor's Instructions: Your doctor has explained the reasons for prescribing XYLOCAINE and provided the recommended dosage. Follow all instructions diligently, as they may vary from the information in this leaflet. If you have questions about alternate uses, consult your doctor for more details. Importantly, XYLOCAINE is not addictive.
